What You Need

I like to use Oracal 651 for my projects, but you can use whatever type of vinyl you like. I also use the transfer tape that is made by Cricut. You could use another brand, but I’ve found that the Cricut transfer tape works the best with their machines. Finally, you’ll need a weeding tool and some scissors.
How to Cut Simple Vinyl Shapes

On the cut settings screen, select “Vinyl” from the material drop-down menu and ensure that the correct blade is inserted into your Cricut machine. Then click “Continue.”
Next, load your vinyl onto your mat and into your Cricut machine following the on-screen prompts.
Once your vinyl is loaded and aligned correctly, click the “Cut” button in Design Space. Your Cricut will begin cutting out your design.
When it’s finished cutting, unload your mat and carefully remove the excess vinyl from around your design using a weeding tool.
Now it’s time to apply transfer tape to your design so that you can move it to its final destination without losing any pieces. To do this, simply peel away a corner of the transfer tape and stick it down on one corner of your design.
Gently rub over the entire surface of the transfer tape with a scraper tool to make sure it is firmly adhered to the vinyl; then slowly peel away the backing paper from your design leaving only the transfer tape and vinyl attached.
Position your design on its final surface and rub over it again with the scraper tool before carefully peeling away the transfer tape, leaving behind only the vinyl shape!
How to Cut Complex Vinyl Shapes

Once everything is secure, slowly peel away the transfer tape (or other adhesive material) and voila! You’ve successfully applied a complex Vinyl shape!
