Regulation size
A regulation size pool table is required for competitive play. The standard dimensions are 8 feet long and 4 feet wide. The playing surface (the area where the balls roll) is 1 inch thick. The table has six pockets, and the standard size pool cue is 58 inches long.
Standard size
A standard pool table size is 8 feet in length and 4 feet wide. This is the most popular size for home use, and it’s also the size you’ll find in most bars and pubs. If you have the room, this is the best size to choose. You’ll have plenty of space to shoot, and you won’t have to worry about your cue sticks hitting the walls or furniture.
If you don’t have enough space for a standard pool table, you can opt for a smaller size. A 6-foot table is a good choice if you have limited space. You can also find mini pool tables that are even smaller. These are great for kids or for people who want to practice their shots without taking up too much space.
Bar size
The smallest size pool table is the bar size, also called a cigarette table. These tables are about 4 1/2 feet by 9 feet, and they are used in bars and smaller spaces. They can accommodate three people comfortably, but four might be a squeeze. These tables use 2 1/4-inch pool balls.
Mini or kid’s size
The mini or kid’s size pool table is usually about half the size of a regulation table. These tables are great for kids or beginners who are just learning the game. They are also a good choice if you don’t have a lot of space in your home for a full-size table.
