Wiper Blade Sizes
The size of your wiper blades will depend on the size of your windshield. If you have a small windshield, you will need smaller wiper blades. If you have a large windshield, you will need larger wiper blades. You can usually find the size of your windshield in your car’s owner’s manual.
Standard Wiper Blade Sizes
Most cars will have either 13″, 14″, or 15″ wiper blades. These sizes are based on the length of the blade. The size is usually stamped on the spine of the blade. You can also check your owner’s manual to find out what size wiper blades your car needs. Some cars may need a different size for the driver’s side and passenger’s side.
If you need to replace your wiper blades, it’s important to get the right size. Wiper blades that are too big or too small won’t fit properly and won’t work as well. If you’re not sure what size wiper blades you need, you can use our Wiper Blade Finder tool to find the right size for your car.
Specialty Wiper Blade Sizes
Specialty wiper blades come in a variety of sizes to fit different types of vehicles. You can find wiper blades in sizes ranging from 10 inches to 28 inches. The two most common specialty wiper blade sizes are 16 inches and 24 inches.
16-inch wiper blades: 16-inch wiper blades are the most popular size of specialty wiper blade. They are designed to fit most sedans, coupes, SUVs, and trucks.
24-inch wiper blades: 24-inch wiper blades are the largest size of specialty wiper blade. They are designed to fit larger vehicles, such as RVs and buses.
How to Measure Wiper Blades
It is important to have the correct size wiper blades for your vehicle. If your wipers are too small, they will not be able to properly clear the windshield. If they are too large, they may hit the underside of the windshield or another part of the car. Measuring for the correct size wiper blades is easy to do.
Method One: Measure the old wiper blade
The easiest way to measure your wiper blades is to take the old ones off and measure them. This will give you an exact measurement, so you can get replacement wiper blades that are exactly the same size. You can do this by:
1. Pull the old wiper blade away from the arm.
2. Measure the length of the metal part of the wiper blade (not including the rubber).
3. Write down this measurement, or take a picture of it so you don’t forget.
##Heading:Method Two: Measure the space
##Expansion:If you don’t have your old wiper blades with you, or if they’re so old that they don’t have a size printed on them, you can measure the space where the new wiper blades will go. This is not as accurate as measuring the actual wiper blades, but it’s good enough to get replacement wiper blades that will fit. You can do this by:
1. Find where the new wiper blades will attach to your vehicle (this will usually be near the bottom of your windshield).
2. Measure the distance between these attachment points.
3. Write down this measurement, or take a picture of it so you don’t forget.
Method Two: Measure the wiper arm
If you don’t have the old wiper blades handy, or if they’re not the right size, you’ll need to measure the wiper arms. This is a two-person job, so ask a friend or family member to help.
To measure the wiper arms:
1. Park your car on a flat surface and turn on the engine.
2. Lift the wipers off the windshield so that they’re in the upright position.
3. Measure from the hinge point (where the wipers attach to the arm) to the end of the wiper arm.
4. Write down this measurement and take it with you when you buy new wipers.
How to Choose the Right Size Wiper Blade
The size of your wiper blades is important for several reasons. First, if the blade is too small, it won’t be able to effectively clear the windshield. Second, if the blade is too big, it could cause damage to the windshield. Third, the wrong size wiper blade could cause the wipers to chatter. So, how do you choose the right size wiper blade?
Consider the vehicle
The first step in finding the right size wiper blade for your vehicle is to narrow down your options by considering the make and model of your car. Wiper blades are not one size fits all, so you’ll need to find a blade that’s specifically designed for your car in order to get a perfect fit.
Consider the climate
When choosing wiper blades, it’s important to consider the climate where you live. If you live in an area with a lot of snowfall, you’ll want to choose a wiper blade that can handle the heavy snow and ice. In sunny climates, you’ll want to choose a wiper blade that can resist the sun’s UV rays.
Here are some other things to keep in mind when choosing wiper blades:
-The size of your windshield
-The shape of your windshield
-The type of vehicle you have
Consider the driver
There are a few things to consider when you’re ready to replace your wiper blades. The most important is the driver — you. Depending on your average driving habits, you might need different features than the next driver. If you live in an area with a lot of dust or pollen, for example, you might need to replace your wiper blades more often than someone who lives in an area with less debris in the air.
Other things to keep in mind include:
-The environment you live in: Do you live in an area with a lot of snow, rain or ice?
-How much sunlight hits your windshield: Do you park in direct sunlight? The heat can cause the rubber on your wiper blades to deteriorate faster.
-The size of your windshield: Is your windshield large or small? You’ll need a different size wiper blade for each.
