Sizing for Juniors

Knowing what size to buy your junior is important. You don’t want to buy something too small or too big. There are a few things you need to take into consideration when you are sizing for juniors. Let’s go over them so you can make sure you get the right size.

Tops

Juniors’ tops include tees, blouses, sweaters, jackets, and dresses. Tops are sizedXS-XL and 0-9. Tall sizes are also available in some brands, with inseams up to 39 inches.

How to Measure

Figuring out what size your child needs in clothing can be tough, especially when they’re constantly growing! But have no fear, we’re here to help. Measuring your child is the best way to know for sure what size they need in clothing. In this article, we’ll show you how to measure your child for both tops and bottoms.

Chest

To measure your chest, wrap a measuring tape around the fullest part of your chest, making sure to keep the tape level with the ground.

Waist

To measure your child’s waist, wrap a tape measure around their natural waistline, just above their hipbones. Make sure the tape measure is level all the way around and check that it’s not too tight by making sure you can fit two fingers between the tape and your child’s skin.

Hips

To measure your hips, start at the top of your hip bone and measure down to where your thighs meet your buttocks. Double this number to get your hip measurement.

Inseam

Inseam is the best guide for sizing, but if you don’t have a tape measure handy, here are some other tips:
##If you’re between sizes, go with the smaller size for a more fitted look or the larger size if you want comfort and a little extra room to move.
-If you’re on the higher end of a size range, consider sizing up for comfort. For example, if you’re between a 35″ and a 36″ waist, choose the 36″.
-Check your rise. This is the distance from the crotch seam to the top of your waistband. A low rise sits below your hipbone, while a high rise hits at or above your hipbone.
-Look for fits that are specifically designed for your body type. For example, our Slim Fit is tailored through the seat and thighs and has a narrower leg opening; our Athletic Fit has a little extra room in the seat and thighs and is tapered from knee to ankle; and our Relaxed Fit is our loosest silhouette.

Junior Size Chart

Trying to figure out what size junior clothes you or your child needs can be difficult. Junior sizes are not the same as regular women’s sizes, and they can vary significantly from store to store. In order to find the right size, it is important to consult a junior size chart. This will give you a general idea of what size you should be looking for.

US

In the United States, junior sizes for girls range from 7 to 14 and for boys, from 8 to 20. Tween sizes are also available, and they usually start from size 8 or 10. The junior size charts for girls and boys are different, so make sure you check the right one.

In general, junior clothes are designed to fit teenagers and young adults. However, some brands also offer extended sizes that go up to 3XL or4XL. If you’re looking for larger junior clothing sizes, it’s a good idea to check out the plus-size section on the website of your favorite store.

UK

Age Height (cm) Waist (to fit in inches)
5-6 116 55
7-8 128 58
9-10 140 61
11-12 152 64
13-14 164 67

Europe

## Junior Size Chart

Clothing sizes in Europe start at size 28 and run to 38. Tops, bottoms, dresses, and outerwear all follow this sizing convention. Size 28 is equivalent to a size 4 in the United States; size 38 is equivalent to a size 14. As with women’s clothing sizes, junior sizes increase in increments of two.

There are a few things to keep in mind when shopping for clothing in Europe. First, European sizing is based on height, so you may need to take your child’s height into account when making a purchase. In addition, remember that European sizes run small, so you may need to buy a larger size than you would normally purchase for your child.

When in doubt, it’s always best to try on the clothing before you buy it. This will ensure that you get the best fit possible and that you’re happy with your purchase.

Australia

There is no definitive answer when it comes to what size is junior. In general, junior sizes are for younger children and tend to be smaller than standard sizes. However, this is not always the case, as some brands may have their own unique sizing systems. It is always best to check the specific size chart for the brand or clothing item you are interested in to get the most accurate sizing information.

In Australia, junior sizes generally range from size 0 (for newborns) to size 14 (for older kids). However, as mentioned above, this can vary depending on the brand. For example, some brands may start their junior sizes at size 4 or 6.
