Sizing for Adults
Clancy & Theys construction company is currently in the market for a new t-shirt design for their uniform shirts. They have requested our help in finding a t-shirt that will comfortably fit all of their employees. After some research, we have found that the average size for an adult small is between 5’4″ and 5’8″ with a chest measurement of 34-36 inches.
Determining Your Size
To find your size, start by taking some basic measurements. For shirts, measure your chest and waist at their widest points. For women’s shirts, you may also want to measure your hips at their widest points. For men’s pants, measure your waist and inseam. With these measurements, you can consult a size chart to find the shirt or pants that will fit you best.
When taking measurements, keep a few things in mind:
-Wear little or no clothing so that the measuring tape is as close to your skin as possible.
-Breath normally and don’t hold in your stomach.
-If you’re measuring for pants, take measurements while wearing the type of shoes you would normally wear with them.

Sizing for Children
Choosing the right size for your children’s clothes can be tricky. You don’t want to choose a size that is too big or too small. A good rule of thumb is to choose a size that is the next size up from their current size. For example, if your child is a size 4, you would choose a size 5.
Determining Your Child’s Size
There are a few ways to determine what size to buy for your child. The most accurate method is to use a measuring tape. Measure your child’s chest, waist, and hip circumference and compare those numbers to a size chart.
If you don’t have a measuring tape or if your child is between sizes, you can also use their clothing size as a guide. Children’s sizes generally run from 2T to 16, although some brands offer larger sizes up to 20 or XS (4-5).
Keep in mind that children grow at different rates, so their clothing size is not always an accurate predictor of their true body size. For example, a child who wears a size 6 in clothes might actually have the measurements of a size 8 or even a size 10. In general, it’s best to err on the side of buying a larger size than needed so that your child will be able to wear the clothing for longer.
