How to Measure for the Correct Size
When shopping for clothes, it is important to know your correct size. This can be a tricky task, especially when shopping for Juniors clothing. The size 14-16 in Juniors clothing is for girls who are between the ages of 13 and 15. Here is a guide on how to measure for the correct size.
Measuring the Bust
To measure the bust, wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of your chest. Make sure to keep the tape level from front to back. You can also measure over your bra for a more accurate measurement. Once you have your number, round up or down to the nearest inch. If you get an odd number, that’s okay! Just remember that you will need to size up if you are in between sizes.
For example, if you measure a 34” bust, you will need to size up to a medium (M). If you measure a 35” bust, you can either size up to a large (L) or stick with a medium (M).
Measuring the Waist
To measure the waist, find the natural crease of the body. This is usually located right at the level of the navel/belly button. To ensure accuracy, it is best to have someone else help with this measurement. Once you have located the correct spot, wrap the measuring tape around the waist, making sure that it is level all the way around and parallel to the floor. The measuring tape should feel snug but not too tight. Relax and take a deep breath in before taking your measurement so that you get an accurate reading.
Measuring the Hips
To measure the hips, start at the fullest point of the seat, wrap the tape around and back to where you started. Stand up straight and relax while someone else takes the measurement. The number you get is your natural waist measurement.
