The 3-1-1 Rule
The “3-1-1” rule limits the amount of liquid, aerosol, and gel containers that can be carried on an airplane to 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less per item. These containers must be placed in a single, clear, quart-sized bag. Each passenger is allowed one bag per item.

These are limited to travel-sized containers that are 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less per item. All liquids, aerosols, gels, creams and pastes must be placed in a single, quart-sized, clear plastic, zip-top bag. Only one item per bag. The bag may be placed in a carry-on bag or in your checked bag.
TSA limits carry-on liquids, gels and aerosols to containers that hold 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less per item. Larger containers that are half-full or less can be packed in checked luggage.
Gel is a type of solid Deodorant that has a moisture-activated formula. It usually comes in a pump dispenser and can be applied directly to the skin. Although it is not as popular as other types of Deodorant, gel has some advantages. For one, it is less likely to stain clothing than other types of deodorant. It is also less likely to leave white marks on dark clothing. Gel Deodorant can be an alternative for people who are sensitive to the aluminum in antiperspirants.
Creams, also sometimes called roll-ons, are a type of deodorant that come in a small bottle or tube. You apply them by rolling the stick on your skin.
According to the TSA, you are allowed to bring a travel-sized deodorant in your carry-on bag and checked bag. The maximum container size for liquids, gels and aerosols is 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) per item.
