How to Paint Over Flex Seal

Flex Seal can be painted over with any type of paint as long as the surface is properly prepared. First, sand the surface to create a key for the paint to adhere to. Next, wipe the surface with a tack cloth to remove any dust generated from sanding. Finally, apply a coat of primer before painting.


After testing Flex Seal on various surfaces, we have come to the conclusion that yes, you can paint over Flex Seal. However, we do not recommend doing so without first preparing the surface.
